Erica Blaire Roby

Roby has a more extensive background in cooking than most people believe. She recently appeared on Blue Smoke Grill's Food Network episode. She studied under the best chefs and won a $7500 Preserve the Pit fellowship award. Competing against the best barbecue chefs in America, Roby put her skills to the test. The competition was tough, but Roby fought through the pain, despite a cut finger.

A psychology graduate, Roby has worked as a wine expert and as a criminal defense attorney. Prior to appearing on Food Network as a competitor, she was a sommelier and paired wines with different foods. It gave her the chance to re-discover her passion for cooking. Roby grew up in a family that owned a barbecue restaurant.

Despite her legal career, Roby decided to take up cooking barbecue after having her first child. Her father's dream of her opening a barbecue restaurant inspired her, so she decided to take up the challenge. Roby attended a celebrity chef Harry Soo's barbecue cooking class in 2018. As a result, she became a certified pitmaster and was soon working in a barbecue restaurant.


Her love of barbecue began as a hobby. But, she soon became obsessed with barbecue. She began by making dishes on her back deck. Later, she competed in barbecue contests across the nation, cooking alongside world-famous pitmasters. Since then she has started a series pop-ups throughout Dayton, Ohio. She hopes one day to open a food cart.

In the upcoming third season of Food Network BBQ Team Brawl, two of the world's top chefs will join forces to compete for the ultimate grilling title. Anne Burrell and Jet Tila will take on Bobby Flay and Team Anne in a dinner-party brawl that's sure to be one to remember. Matt Roth, the Austin-based Smokin Beauty co-owner with Thao, returns to "BBQ Brawl" and will be back in the new season.

Ann gave instructions to the contestants in the first episode Food Network BBQ Team Brawl. Jet and Team Bobby let them decide what they would make. As a result, Team Bobby bumbled his ceviche and dropped some meat. Team Anne now has a significant advantage. Anne even jumped down the throat of Team Bobby's contestant while he was reaching for an ingredient.

Like all Food Network competitions there are many familiar faces in the new season BBQ Team Brawl. Lee Ann Whippen has been competing in barbecuing over 23 years and will serve as Team Anne's judge. Her business responsibilities include managing Deviled Pig Tampa and serving as a judge for Kansas City Barbecue Society. She has been a star on television shows such as Throwdown with Bobby Flay and BBQ Pitmasters, and has won numerous state and international barbecue championships.


Flay vs Symon was another contest for the best barbecue sandwich. Lee Ann chose to make a sandwich the traditional way, while Susie chose a more exotic approach. While her pork belly bam mi was bold and delicious, the judges disagreed. Team Anne's burger was flavorful, juicy and on a sturdy bun.

Food Network will broadcast the new season "BBQ Brawl" at 9 PM EDT on September 9. Sling and Philo will allow you to watch the entire first season online. Nine young chefs from the barbecue world will learn from these celebrity chefs. Each contestant will be able to skew and beat the heat.
